Jesus is the center of everything I do.
He is my Savior; My Messiah; My Lord. He is the Divine Son of God.
And He has called me to be His disciple, which means that my life is to be lived out exactly as He would live it out.
For me to do this, I must follow the Scriptures, which are the perfectly inspired Word of God.
I am to take up my cross daily, knowing that being Jesus’ disciple could very well cost me everything. It means that I am to view the world through His eyes, and then act accordingly.
If someone is hurting, I am to help them. If someone is thirsty, I am to give them drink. If someone is hungry, I am to give them food.
St. Francis of Assisi said, “Preach the gospel, and if necessary, use words.”
But I am to go beyond that. I am to live the gospel out, and also to use words. Anything less than this, is less than what my Messiah deserves.
In the words of the old hymn, “Love so amazing – so Divine – demands my soul, my life, my all.”
